Fun in the Sprinkler

We're enjoying some great weather here... very warm, but not too hot... yet! Anyway, I set up the sprinkler last night in our backyard for the kids to enjoy while I cleaned up the house. Mary was away at a church activity. They had a blast!

Here's Nathan preparing to embark on their first voyage into the sprinkler. I can't get enough of his "cheeeeeeeeese" face whenever we tell him we're going to take a picture. Above is just another example. So I had swim trunks out to put on him in addition to the swim diaper, but come on, we're just in our backyard, why get the trunks wet/dirty?
Here is Sarah, the accomplice, pushing Nathan into the unknown. Nathan seems to think that he's in charge!
Once they start to get soaked, Sarah bails, which is an easier job from where she's at. Nathan on the other hand always kind of rolled out of the car, onto the ground and then took off running. Both of them just loving every second of it! They would then "sneak" into the sprinkler to get the car (again, Sarah gets the back and Nathan pushes the front, thus getting Nathan more soaked). They happily push the car out of the sprinkler and back onto the porch... wait a minute or two... and then they convince each other to do it again. It was so fun to be inside doing the dishes while watching them have so much fun together, I was in Daddy heaven! They play so well together (typically) and Nathan just adores his big sister!
After all the fun they enjoyed a good snack before bedtime: half a banana and half an apple each and a piece of toast with cinnamon and sugar... and plenty of water! Cute kids!
